These terms are a contract between you and Rosie AI (“Rosie”, “we”, “us”) for the family assistant at https://rosieai.xyz, including the web app and related emails or notifications.
They should be read with the Privacy policy, which includes how we treat children’s information. They are written for families in Australia and for households who use Rosie from elsewhere. They are not legal advice.
By creating an account, inviting someone into a household, or letting a child use a profile, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use Rosie and do not let a child use it.
Rosie AI is operated from Australia. For billing, account, or safety questions, email hello@rosieai.xyz.
Parents and guardians. The adult who creates the household is the account holder. You are responsible for the household, including every child profile, every co-parent you invite, the PINs you set, and how Rosie is used.
Co-parents. If a parent invites you, you share the same family wallet, profiles, and parent tools. You must also be 18 or older. You agree to these terms when you accept the invite.
Children. A child does not get a separate adult account. They use a profile the parent created (PIN on a shared device, or an optional email login bound to that profile). If you are a child, ask a parent before using Rosie.
To create a household or accept a co-parent invite you must:
We do not knowingly let someone under 18 own a household. If you think that has happened, email hello@rosieai.xyz.
Rosie is a parent-guided assistant. It can chat, help with homework in education mode, remember facts a parent approves, and generate or edit pictures when a parent allows it. Replies come from a third-party model (currently xAI Grok 4.6). Images are generated the same way.
Rosie is not a teacher of record, not a babysitter, and not a source of professional medical, legal, financial, or school-enrolment advice. Parents remain responsible for how children use it.
We may change, pause, or stop features. Chat and image generation need a positive credit balance and the third-party model to be available.
One adult sign-in owns the household. You may invite another adult as a co-parent. Kids stay on PIN profiles unless you link an email login to an existing child profile. That login does not create a new household or a second wallet.
You must keep parent PINs, co-parent access, and sign-in details to yourself. Do not give a child the parent PIN. We store PIN hashes, not the PIN itself. After several wrong PIN attempts, a profile may lock for a short time.
You are responsible for anyone who uses the household — including a child on a shared tablet, a child email login you sent, and a co-parent you invited.
You can set content tiers, schedules, spend caps, image rules, and pause a child. Those rules apply on top of our own safety filters.
Filters and parent settings reduce risk. They do not make every reply safe or correct. You should review chats, especially for younger children, and change the settings if something is not right.
Rosie uses prepaid credits. It is not a subscription. Credits are consumed as the household chats and generates or edits images, at the rates shown in Billing.
New households may receive a small starter credit (currently about $2 USD) with no card. Further use needs a top-up. Packs start at $5 USD. You can also enter a custom amount within the limits shown at checkout. Payments go through Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.
When the wallet reaches $0, chat and image generation stop until a parent buys more. Unused credits stay in the household wallet. They are not cash, not transferable to another household, and not a bank deposit.
Optional auto-reload charges a saved card when the balance is low, at the amount you chose. You can turn it off in Billing. If a reload payment fails, auto-reload may turn off and we may alert you.
Prices and rates can change for future purchases. Credits already in the wallet keep working at the usage rates then shown in the app.
Prepaid digital credits are generally non-refundable once granted, including unused balance, except where Australian Consumer Law (or other law that cannot be excluded) requires otherwise.
If a charge looks wrong, email hello@rosieai.xyz and we will look at the Stripe record with you. Refunds, if any, are processed through Stripe.
Deleting the household does not automatically refund unused credits. Payment records stay with Stripe.
You must not use Rosie, or let a child use Rosie, to:
We may block content, pause a profile, suspend a household, or refuse service if we reasonably believe these terms are being broken, or if we need to protect a person or the service.
Rosie can be wrong, incomplete, outdated, or unsuitable. It may invent facts. Homework help is coaching, not a guarantee of marks. Image output can miss the request or include things you did not want.
Do not rely on Rosie for emergencies, medical decisions, legal advice, or official school or government processes. You (the parent) decide what a child may ask and what they should do with the answer.
Chat prompts, relevant context (name, age, approved memories, recent messages), and images needed for a reply or a safety check are sent to xAI. We may also send a question to web search through xAI. That usually happens outside Australia. See the Privacy policy.
You keep whatever rights you already have in prompts, uploads, and other content the household puts into Rosie.
You grant us a licence to store, process, and display that content so we can run the service — including sending it to xAI, storing image files, showing it to parents in the household, and keeping the credit ledger.
Do not upload material you do not have the right to use. Generated and uploaded images are stored privately and shown only to signed-in members of the household.
Rosie AI, the site, the app, and related branding are ours or our licensors’. These terms do not sell you the software. You may use the service for your household. You may not copy the product, reverse engineer it except where the law allows, or use our name in a way that suggests we endorse you.
Parts of Rosie are run by other companies. Their terms also apply to what they do:
Outages, delays, or policy changes at those companies can affect Rosie. Stripe’s terms apply to card payments. xAI’s terms apply to model use.
We aim to keep Rosie working, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. We may take the app down for maintenance, or change features, models, rates, or limits.
If we stop offering Rosie, we will say so on the site or by email where that is reasonable. Unused credits are then handled as section 8 (refunds) and Australian Consumer Law require.
You may stop using Rosie at any time. A parent can:
Deleting household data removes the family’s data from Rosie. Payment records stay with Stripe. The Stripe customer is not deleted. Sign-in accounts may still exist until they are deleted with the sign-in provider. See the Privacy policy for what leftover files can remain.
We may suspend or end access if you break these terms, if the law requires it, or if we discontinue the service. We may also suspend access to deal with abuse, unpaid failed charges, or a safety risk.
To the extent permitted by law, Rosie is provided as-is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, accurate, or fit for a particular purpose.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost marks or school outcomes, or unused credits after you delete a household, except where Australian Consumer Law requires otherwise.
For loss we cannot exclude, our liability is limited to resupplying the service or paying the cost of doing so, where the law allows that limitation. If that limitation is not allowed, our aggregate liability for a claim is limited to the credits you paid us in the three months before the claim, or the minimum the law requires — whichever we are obliged to apply.
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Courts of New South Wales have jurisdiction, subject to any rights you have that cannot be waived (including consumer rights in your home state or country).
We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. If a change is material, we will post the new terms on this page and, where it is reasonable, email the account holder.
Continued use after an update means the updated terms apply, except where the law requires a fresh agreement.
